Stone-effect Sophistication

Stone-effect tiles are another area where tile designers are really utilising the full potential of advanced digital decoration.  Once again the key to the aesthetic impact of today’s tile ranges lies in the ability to combine beautiful, naturalistic colours with sophisticated surface textures, including 3D relief tiles.

I could have chosen one of a number of new entrants from Italy, but I have to admit that I really liked FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti‘s promotional photographs.  Like a Constable landscape, the use of a flash of red in every image, really helps to bring the photographs to life.  And the tile range is pretty spectacular in its own right.

FMG’s new Trax range reinterprets the attraction and natural warmth of stone in a contemporary light.  The use of advanced production technologies has resulted in a hi-tech ceramic product offering authentic looks and outstanding performance.

Trax comes in five evocative hues, in a vast range of sizes, with four different finishes faithfully interpreting the wealth of grooves, marks and veins on stone.

I particularly like the Silky finish which adds a genteel touch to surfaces with an unusually soft feel.  At the same time, the Rigato finish underlines the slabs’ material qualities with an attractive 3D effect.

There are five colour options: white, greige, beige, brown and dark.
