Today Tile Addict is back on the trail of new restaurants that use ceramic tiles as a key element of their design and overall branding. For decades, the leaders in this area have been Italian-themed restaurants, because nothing says – ‘Nonna would approve of the pasta here!’ – more than a beautiful tiled floor.
UK tile distributor Bedrock has recently helped with the refurbishment programme for the Bella Italia chain of restaurants; using highly sustainable floor tiles to ensure the sustainable refurbishment ethos is followed. At the recently upgraded branch in Deansgate, Manchester, the patterned floor tiles also make a significant design contribution. These anti-slip porcelain floor tiles have a 48% recycled content and are produced to the highest manufacturing standards. What’s more, they offer the appropriate level of slip resistance, achieving over 36 in pendulum wet tests.
In the WCs the design team opted for a classic bevelled metro tile. This classic shape casts reflection and shading producing a timeless, authentic, ambiance.
Bella Italia operates around 90 Italian-themed restaurants across the UK serving fresh pasta, crispy hand stretched pizzas, Italian grills and classics and tempting desserts.
