Tile Addict salutes Yurtbay Seramik: which has just been named as winner of the Wallcovering Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2017 by design et al in The Product Design Categories within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017.

Yurtbay Seramik victorious design was Cube. This 300 by 900mm rectified, high reflief, moulded tile forms a striking wallcovering. The Cube tile design is suitable for a multitude of application in different interior spaces. Available in four colours – black, hakhi, pearl and plantin white – the Cube range is suitable for both residential and commercial spaces.

Created by Yurtbay’s in-house design team, the objective of this design was to realise Yurtbay’s corporate logo as a textured glazed porcelain wall tile that had strong contemporary design appeal. The designers felt it was important that the design was in keeping with new design trends; as well as offering clients a new aesthetic while delivering a matt-finish moulded surface suitable for many uses including as a display or feature wall. In short, this design is targeted to individuals who want to create their own living space whilst retaining a modern and contemporary style.

Winning such a high profile award is a considerable coup for this ambitious Turkish manufacturer, which is represented in the UK by the progressive IntCeram agency. Hosted by the renowned interior design magazine design et al, The International Design & Architecture Awards reward the best in design from across the globe.
