Ice Cream Creation

The Capo di Latte artisanal ice cream parlour in Vicenza, Italy has chosen Lapitec sintered stone for its work surfaces and serving counters.  The design by 02AA specified Lapitec satin finish slabs for the project.  And, as it’s an ice cream parlour, the natural choice of colour just had to be Bianco Crema; a warm, light tone that perfectly fits the shop’s decor, creating a welcoming and elegant atmosphere.

Furthermore, the natural quality of Lapitec made it a perfect solution for the interiors, where it becomes a key element for conveying the owners’ artisanal philosophy, the attention to superior ingredients, and the passion for elegant presentation.

The material was chosen for its extreme workability.  The challenge was intensified by the need to make cuts the 12mm slabs of the serving counter, often very close together, to create compartments for the ice cream pans.  This was possible due to Lapitec’s resistance to breakage.

The material can also cope with temperature variations and, because the slabs are resin-free, they’re ideal for use both in low and high temperature conditions.  Finally, the satin finish is also easy to clean, guaranteeing the highest standards of hygiene for worktops and serving counters.
