Watermarks we want

We recently took a look at an awesome selection of ranges from Clé in at attempt to demonstrate how magnificently varied, and tasteful their collections are. However, there was one range in particular that was deliberately left out of the list in order for it to have an article of its own.

Designed by none other than Clé founder herself, Deborah Osburn, “Watermark” has an ethereal appeal. It’s is a simple concept – easily recognisable patterns of bleeding colour in a selection of shape, saturation, and hue variants. Its delightful qualities were first recognised in 2014 by Interior Design Magazine where it was voted best of the year.

Osburn has spent years exploring and experimenting with tile, and by combining passions for ceramics, art, and fashion, she has curated an acute taste demonstrated by the companies collections. And with Watermark it is the mix of porcelain and pigment which gives the tiles their unique look.

Each textured porcelain tile is hand crafted and painted. The original designs Dip, Stroke, Stain, and Wash utilise rich yet relaxing indigo and the green tinted gold verdigris pigments for a range of artistic and otherwordly shapes. The newest addition, Tides, designed by Luca Osburn adds a further four vibrant blue and green tones in the additional pieces inspired by waves and a love of surfing in Northern California. All tiles are unique and made to order in a 4″x8″ format.
