Four joys of tile

One of the greatest joys we have writing about tiles as much as we do is finding the unusual and delightful. We’ve collected a few of our favourite examples that highlight the joys of tile in the fun they bring to others, and the many ways they can captivate and enchant.

1. Gyva Grafika‘s Lithuanian Loo

A friend shared with us this tile-related wonder knowing how much we’d appreciate this novel take on interior design. 2. Frances Priest‘s Tiled Corridor

This work, commissioned by the Edinburgh Lothian Health Foundation for The Royal Edinburgh Hospital, is exactly what you’d hope for in a place specialised in mental health. The calming shapes, joyful tones, and transformative layout create a beautiful mural for the patients, visitors, and staff to enjoy. Read more about it here.

4. Richard Woods cartoon tiles

This fun creation celebrates how wildly imaginitive tile can get. This swimming pool, designed by artist Richard Woods, uses the most colourful of his iconic ‘wood’ pattern and creates a real-life feature that looks like it’s come straight from a cartoon. Read more about it here.
