Hilighting Brazilian history in a trio of wooden tile collections is the beautiful Brasiliana. Created in a collaboration between wood transforming specialists Oca Brasil and surface designer Renata Rubim, the Brasiliana Collection restores cultural heritage in the most beautiful way.
Three different periods – Tribal, Colonial, and Modernist – inspire the designs, each of which is handcrafted in solid, reforested teak, eucalyptus, or valchromat (fully coloured bonded wood fibre). Various colours in a gloss or matt finish can be used to contrast against the wood and emphasise the motifs from each line.
Tribal
Geometric patterns reference a time before colonisation where numerous, culturally varied indigenous tribes lived across Brazil. Three patterns are used here which can be mixed together or used separately to create dynamic layouts and features.
Colonial
Advancing to a period of Portuguese colonial influence, these 16 colonial designs are inspired by traditional Portguese tiles, rich with detail and variety. Produce colourful collages or keep it natural by embracing wood and softer tones.
Burle
Named for the Brazilian modernist Roberto Burle Marx, these designs are wonderfully abstract and ripe with curious rhythms. Jagged lines, soft curves, and the iconic vibe of Burle Marx mix and meld together in this fabulous display.
