The 11,000 sq. foot Vanke Pavilion was clad in 4,200 glazed porcelain stoneware tiles designed by Daniel Libeskind and manufactured by Casalgrande Padana. As part of the Living With Art exhibition at Albion Barn, British artist and designer Richard Woods created a fantastical swimming pool using his iconic ‘wood’ pattern on ceramic tiles. The ‘wooden’ swimming pool is made up of large format porcelain tiles, each custom-printed with a woodgrain effect in a block print style. The Lidl supermarket chain has commissioned Liverpool’s Tile Fire to manufacture and install two bespoke tile murals depicting the towns history at their new store in Halstead, Essex. Marazzi’s Grand Carpet is produced in six different 1,200 by 2,400mm modules, 6mm thick, in two sophisticated colour shades, Smoke and Sand. Opus Motus was created by Raffaello Galiotto in conjunction with Lithos Design. It comprised six colourful mechanical spinning tops featuring an inlaid marble circle. When activated by a lever, these vertically-mounted tops begin to spin progressively faster. As this happens, the natural colours merge together, amalgamating and forming new and surprising shades.
