Haustile are collab queens. Their previous design collaborations with Dani Dazey of Dazey LA, and Daren Thomas Magee of Real Fun, WOW! brought us incredible creations such as Spotlight and In the Prism. And now there’s a whole new bunch of tiles to enjoy as we welcome their most recent selection of Bold, Durable, and Never Boring porcelain pieces.
Created with Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist Zander Schlacter, ten wacky new tile designs have found their home amongst Haustile’s offerings. Three intense black and white illusions (Gossip, Ripple, and Wiggles & Waves) offer bold contrast whilst three kaleidoscopically colourful designs (Corduroy, Fever Dream: Red and Blue, and Gradient Stripes) add fun.
The remaining four designs in off-white, sage, and brown add both neutrality and playful patterning. Schlacter’s wibbly wobbly designs take inspiration from “children’s art, LGBTQ culture, craft traditions, and postmodern art and design” with Wiggles & Waves (available in both Black & White and Sage) serves “as a physical manifestation of “the shpilkes” (Yiddish term for “restless energy”).”
All designs apart from Ripple are porcelain tiles measuring approx 12″ by 12″ and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use on walls and floors. Ripple is Haustile’s first glazed brick option, measuring 2 1/4″ by 7 1/2″ and is suitable for use on walls both indoors and outdoors.
