Six years on from Pantone’s Classic Blue, and a year after the countless blue choices for 2024’s Colour of the Year, Valspar has selected aptly named Encore for 2025.
This punchy blue’s hearty pigment was chosen to embody constancy and confidence, inviting joy alongside a comforting sense of stability. Echoing Valspar’s 2024 shade Renew Blue, Encore reaffirms a desire for optimism in the year ahead, encouraging it forth with vibrancy.

A few other Colours of the Year have been announced, with mostly earthy neutrals, jewel tones, and some additional blues, but with Dulux’s True Joy, Encore starts a potential theme of saturated primary hues for 2025 – so we’ll have to see what Pantone goes for!
