These wooden floors are not what they seem. They’re not solid wood. They’re not vinyl. And they’re not technically tiles. They’re a mix of recycled wood fibres, cork, and something entirely unexpected – leather.

Beginning with a simple “Hello Karta, Goodbye Plastics” pledge, UK-based flooring company Karta looks past tradition to revolutionise the way flooring is made. Seeking solutions beyond vinyl and plastic, Karta crafts its flooring from 100% natural fibres, not only eliminating the creation of waste, but also absorbing and repurposing waste from other industries.

With their Recycled Leather Series, layers of leather from the shoe industry creates a thick base that is thermally insulating and sound absorbing. A cork backing and wood fibre layer complete the planks whilst the richly detailed wood-look is digitally printed with 20 distinct faces.

Numerous woods, colours, and details are presented across the range, creating rustic, modern, and traditional looks for endless design needs.
