Scented Martian Veil

A futuristic take on an ancient material, this new creation from Fantini Mosaici and AB+AC Architects, offers an olfactory surprise alongside three dimensions of terrazzo.

Multicoloured marbles (Rosso Verona, Rosso Francia, Verde Ming, and Giallo Siena) form the traditional terrazzo basis that is then infused with a curated selection of natural scents, namely eucalyptus, incense, and wood notes. These calming aromas are slowly released from the terrazzo, bringing spaces to life and delighting the senses for a fully immersive environment.

In Fantini Mosaici’s new showroom, the Martian Veil installation demonstrates the intriguing impact of this new take on terrazzo. Inspired by the “mineral-rich, fiery landscapes of Mars” the 3D Martian Veil wall sits at 4 by 4.6m with an undulating surface that varies from 2.5 and 12.5 cm in depth. Two visualisations – a striking monolithic fireplace and a towering feature wall – from AB+AC Architects display the material’s design potential in real world settings.
