Although this year’s Cersaie was awash with ultra-large format tiles, high end porcelain planks and sleek marble-, timber- and concrete-effect tiles; retro small format wall tiles were also seen to make a comeback. The most popular format, as utilised by stand-out ranges such as Fap Ceramiche’s Brooklyn, is the 75 by 300mm elongated rectangle.

So it comes as little surprise that design-savvy USA retailer Nemo Tile has just announced the new Cape Cod collection. Inspired by the classic American seaside destination after which it is named, Cape Cod is a range of glazed ceramic subway tiles with a smooth yet uneven finish that mimics rolling ocean waves. The range, which has an artisanal, weathered look, is available in 12 soft pastel finishes: including trending colours such as marine blue and moss green, as well as beach-inspired hues like a hazy yellow and sandy beige. Each colour line is named after a town in the Cape Cod area: although all bar four will be equally familiar to UK residents.

Suitable for a variety of wall installs for residential, hospitality, and retail spaces, the collection evokes the feel of these quaint villages, summer days spent in the sand and salt water, and soft breezes felt when walking along the seaside. A wide range of trim pieces are also available on special order, complementing this new collection, including edge profiles in 40 by 300mm, internal and external corners, borders and jolly profiles in 10 by 300m, 10 by 150mm and 10 by 100mm..

These 10 by 75 by 300mm wall tiles come in both matt and gloss finishes. There are 12 colour options being Eastham, Osterville, Orleans, Hyannis, Chatham, Yarmouth, Barnstable, Harwich, Truro, Falmouth, Wellfleet, and Bourne.
