Having just returned from an Italian exhibition triple-header – Cersaie, Technargilla, and Marmomacc – I found myself contemplating just how would I display today’s XXL porcelain slabs if I was a tile retailer. And then, wading through the mind-boggling volume of post show press material, I came across a simple, elegant, and effective solution.

It came in the post Cersaie PR folder from the Emilgroup. This Italian giant has a number of tile brands; but this display option was used by Level, one of the group’s latest brands. Level specialises in 1,600 by 3,200mm ceramic slabs; with a portfolio of high end designs that open up new horizons for architecture and interior design.

With Level, Emilgroup has raised the beauty of large-sized surfaces to new heights: exquisite looks delivered with all the engineering excellence provided by today’s porcelain stoneware. Suitable for a wide range of innovative design projects, the slabs are offered in two variants: 6.5mm rectified in 1,600 by 3,200mm; and 12mm unrectified in 1,620 by 3,240mm.

They can be used to create worktops and splashbacks for kitchens and bathrooms, worktops, tables, doors, and seamless covering solutions for floors and walls, even outdoors, with a degree of detail, versatility of application and personalisation previously unimaginable.

With Level, Emilgroup exploits not only the beauty of porcelain stoneware surfaces, but above all their performances. Level cannot be scratched or scored by blades or other objects, its colour and structure remain unaffected by exposure to sources of heat, it cannot be altered by chemical agents or other particularly acidic or harsh products or foodstuffs, and, since it is not porous, it does not trap bacteria, moulds or other harmful agents, allowing excellent hygiene.

Easy care is another advantage: just water and ordinary cleaning products. Level is therefore a fine aesthetic and functional solution for the worktops of contemporary kitchens, and marks a new stage in the fresh product research and development so central to Emilgroup’s innovative philosophy.

There are four looks available: marble, cement, solid colours ,and design. In line with modern and contemporary trends, Level provides an extreme degree of expressive freedom combined with the potential for unbroken continuity and stylistic matching between floorings, wall coverings and furnishings. A line of products able to support superlative design solutions, responding to the most sophisticated, demanding sensibilities and tastes in the modern architectural world.

And the design solution: one slab held in a simple easel with a few props to suggest location and interior style. Just like the Level slabs themselves it is simple, elegant, versatile, and effective.
