One of the outstanding new ranges at Cersaie 2022 was Canal Grande by Refin, a collection inspired by glamor of Venice and the city’s nautical culture. Canal Grande pays homage to majestic mahogany, the material traditionally used to build vaporetti: the famous Venetian water taxis.

Refin’s design team, in collaboration with an historic shipyard in Venice, studied these nautical mahogany boards in great detail to create a design that is faithful to the peculiarities of this inspiring material.

Canal Grande takes one back to the most luxurious environments of the jet set. The graphics are characterised by parallel but uneven lines, which create a blurred effect and give a distinct depth that is particularly accentuated in the glossy finish.

Canal Grande is offered in three colour variants – Rubino, Noce, and Moro – that are all closely linked to the authentic colour of the hulls of these vintage boats. There are two formats, 750 by 1,500mm and 250 by 1,500mm; and a choice of soft and gloss finishes.
