Inspired by the sea and sun, Athens-based artist Evi Louka of Urban Pottery creates cheerful ceramic kitchenware and uniquely decorated tiles, translating the textures and charm of Mediterranean life and memories of travel into functional pieces that enliven a home.

Hand-painted lobsters and fish, fruits and palm trees garnish plates, mugs, and dishes with seaside vibes and the warmth of summer sunshine. Vibrant shades, brush strokes, and darling relief details create a characterful catalogue that bursts with joy.

The tiles come framed in dots, stripes, and waves, or drenched in colour. Each piece is unique, though themed sets form patchworks featuring animals, statues, phrases, and cacti.

A recent series handmade from warm earthenware clay explores relief with geometric shapes and curves, bursts of blue and green, and accents in gold. Subtle imperfections infuse the tiles with personality to form dramatic features or serve as individual art pieces.
