Guumba Pottery

Finishing our second week of tile-world companies and creatives we have Guumba Pottery – a Seoul-based ceramic studio that creates captivating handcrafted homeware.

Exploring the interplay of organic material and an artist’s touch, each piece is decorated in Guumba Pottery’s reinterpretation of traditional Korean folk paintings, aesthetics, and patterns. Every bowl, vase, cup, and tile form a canvas, depicting charming creatures and striking motifs in their signature lines.

Embracing the Korean view of nature and its rhythms, the spirit of ancestral art, and refined contemporary style, this unique studio finds balance between old and new, creating a range of functional art that is “both unfamiliar and familiar, exotic yet Korean.”
