Liquid Forms, the latest award-winning 3D tile from KAZA Concrete, was designed by New York-based architect Aybars Asci, founder and director of Efficiency Lab for Architecture.  Inspired by ‘the expression of flow and movement in solid form’, Asci looked to the mastery of Baroque sculptors who worked with marble to create the tile design.

On Wednesday 20th September from 1 to 2pm, Aybars Asci will give a ‘Concrete Stories’ design talk about working with concrete and how the material has influenced his thinking.  The case studies will include 413 metre tall hyperbolic paraboloid concrete shear walls, geometric definitions of lamella concrete framing and plastic qualities of concrete for his tile design Liquid Forms for KAZA Concrete, the winner of 2016 Walker Zanger Kaza design competition.

On Thursday 21st September, Domus will be hosting a Designing with Concrete CPD – Material Masterclass from 1 to 2pm.  Focusing on surface design, the presentation will provide designers with a deeper knowledge of this unique material.
