Karak Revisted

It has been four years since our last look at Austrian company Karak so it’s time for a refresher. If you’d like a bit of background or more information on their production process read this first!

Their trio of first-rate finishes (Screenprinted Raku, Screenprinted White, and Embossed Relief) all tell the tales of an artisan’s hand. Crackles, pockets of pigment, and marks from the tongs signify an authentic Raku glaze.

Craters, surface scars, and dappled shading create a canvas of charm for Karak’s screenprinted delights whilst their relief tiles can contain surprise smatterings of contrasting clay, an unexpected scratch or scuff, and the striking play of light achieved only through multidimensional design.

Their original VeSta designs of sinuous interconnected bulbous webs and their KuQua patterns made of petals and teardrops are now met with the marvellous Treasure Chest. Eleven motifs ranging from geometric KuRo to futuristic SaKra, and modern TriMu have made it to this intriguing chest, born from collaboration and inspiration and declared too lovely to be forgotten.

Potential customers can make use of their Workbench tool to find the perfect layout for their chosen tiles, rotating them any which way and selecting from positive and negative colouration.
