Karak Constellation

The crafty creatives at Karak cause a stir on a courtyard ceiling in a collaboration with artist Michael Fliri and architecture firm Bergmeisterwolf. Flowing across a bathhouse in the old town of Brixen, double-ended ceramic hands reach towards one another in a symbol of connection and exchange.

In a deep inky blue, these textured, 3D hands rise up from uniquely shaped tiles with their bubble-like skin reflecting light and appearing as both a sparkling starry night and an intriguing scaled creature.

Designed to refresh the courtyard, Karak’s constellation of hands seeks give new life to a space that has become open to the public, adding flow to the area that connects the new quarter to the inner courtyard and onto the historic alleys, squares and gardens.
