A whole bunch of Gingham tiles

It all started when I was doing research for one of my Interior Inspo posts. I saw some gingham tiles. Then I saw some more. I squirrelled them away in my ’tile matching’ folder, hoping to be able to use them one day if I ever found a third gingham tile to complete my collection. Not only did I find that missing piece, I found enough to give them their own little corner of Tile Addict. So today, sit back and enjoy these seven fabulous gingham (and tartan and plaid) tiles, and see if you’ve got somewhere to let them shine at home.

1) Checkmate from ClΓ© Tile

These were the first gingham tiles we laid our eyes on. I knew they were special the moment I saw them. Three tones from a singular colour simply laid out in a three by three grid, perfectly imitating gingham. Available in blues or greys, Checkmate are class cement tiles.

2) Gingham from Haustile

These were our second gingham find, from the wonderfully creative Haustile. Four colour ways – Blackberry, Crater, Ottawa, and Sand – offer up distinctive gingham personalities. With static-effect dashes taking the place of solid colour, Gingham have a touch of a fabric-effect to them, adding layers to their look.

3) Tailorart from Ceramica Sant’Agostino

Found when writing about fabric-effect tiles, Ceramica Sant’Agostino‘s Tailorart is more Tartan than Gingham, but I’ll give it a pass because it sits so nicely beside all these other designs. Textured like fabric, this collection features two subtly distinct decors in Dark and Light colour ways for a classic carpeted look.

4) Glasgow Plaid from Cement Tile Shop

Fine stripes mixed with squares and thicker lines, Glasgow Plaid (designed by Anna Burrows for Cement Tile Shop) is a cosy patterned cement tile full of charm and a fabulous plaid spirit.

5) Britannia from Marble Systems

Combining Light, Snow White, and Black Honed marble mosaics, this trio from Marble Systems play together to create a delightfully stony Gingham pattern that is hard wearing and full of life.

6) Akdo Sio Cubic Plaid Black from Decorative Materials

Asymmetric and created with three grey tones, Decorative Materials‘ Akdo Sio Cubic Plaid Black porcelain tiles offer up a cement look Plaid pattern for creating unusual statement features.

7) Living Nova Scotia from Studio Tiles

Designed and printed in Devon, these plaid tiles from Studio Tiles‘ Living collection are chilled out, neutral, and subtly decorative. Three colours (beige, baby pink, and powder blue) each have their own corresponding check pattern for a trio of old school decors.
