We feature them constantly on our daily games of This or That and all across our Instagram but it has been nearly three years since they got an article all of their own. So today we’re talking Mosaic Factory and sharing one of their most marvellous recent releases.

Collaborating with Australian-founded and Dubai-based architecture and design firm Verhaal, a chic take on zellige was born. Alongside Mosaic Factory, Verhaal brought to life the Jawhara Ciselé Zellige tile collection. Named after the Arabic word for Jewel, the shapes and patterns of the range were created to symbolise the importance of Middle Eastern jewellery.

Six connecting motifs form numerous designs, each chiseled by hand to create elegant contrast against the vibrant inky glaze. Delicate corner details and ribbon-like strips form endless borders and layered design full of artisanal soul.

Four statement shades complete the look, embracing unusual colours with an intense spirit. Two plum tones (one darker, one with hints of indigo) were chosen for their connection to maternal love and familial bonds, a magical chartreuse symbolises growth and renewal, and an elegant oaty white grounds the design in tradition.
