An awesome use of colour helps us re-imagine the past, present and future of Spanish publisher RUBIO. With thanks to Masquespacio, the store is awash with creativity and sections of the space are kitted out for interactive learning- including handwriting and mathematics practice.
Although the shop provides separate areas for each of their collections, the RUBIO store concept is far from standard and commercial. Known for their publications of educational books, the RUBIO universe encourages learning of all kinds, including within their walls augmented reality, a projection room, and a space so exciting that exploration seems quite necessary.
For the Tile Addict it is great to see that the entire store is kitted out, pretty much from head to toe, with tiles. Although the chosen pieces from Vidrepur and Cinca aren’t the wildest of designs out there, the small white squares are the perfect choice. Reminiscent of school-time square lined notebooks, they are uncannily suitable for an educational space. And the plain white acts as the ideal backdrop for the bold colour choices used throughout which make the shop so enticing.
It is a highly stylised futuristic/retro concept that takes shopping to another level. It is exciting and inviting, encouraging people of all ages to take a look around.
