It’s like déjà vu

Sticking to their roots – both social and geographical – the artisans at Le Nid handcraft stunning ceramics at the base of Mount Etna, highlighting the magic of being Made in Sicily.

Studio Le Nid – then Il Nido – was founded in 1966 by Barbaro Messina, a creative inspired by the ancients and on the hunt for innovative techniques. In the 70s experimentation led the studio towards lava which today makes up a number of their tiles and creations.

But for us one collection in particular stands out – Déjà Vu. Designed by Luigi Patitucci, Déjà Vu offers a sense of familiarity amongst unusual shapes and combinations. Naive shapes and swirls form patterns across the tiles with block of colour appearing as if created with crayon.

Six variations (Ficus Indica, Le Fleur De Made in Italy, Le Ile La Mer, L’Oleandro, L’Olea Europa, and Le Papier) tackle various forms, each abstract but distinct. Numerous images make up each variation, producing a patchwork effect to further diffuse recognition.
