Installing Illuminations

Seeking to drive an attitude towards design that encourages permanence over change, Normandy-based Unknown Untitled presents their UU Tiles collection.

This trio of tiles is designed to bridge the gap between architecture and furnishings, creating objects that serve as both. Like the loops and rods of Marieke Van Heesbeen and the unique creations of Trix Newham of Lux Pottery, UU Tiles are made to be more than just surface coverings.

Alongside plain mono-colour metro tiles, UU Tiles’ functional offerings are a matching hook tile and a uniquely impressive lamp tile. The lamp tiles are wired into walls like regular light fittings, with an easily accessible lightbulb and entirely glazed shade, perfect for use in bathrooms as part of a full tile installation, or throughout the house as stylish one offs. The hooks offer stylish storage solutions for hanging towels, pots, hats, and more.

Each piece is available fully glazed in one of 10 colours – Pale Mint, Pale Yellow, Rosewood, Fiery Red, Deep Blue, Forest Green, Blue Gray, Light Gray, Off-white, and Muted Pink.
