Lux Loveliness

Vibrant with colour, rich with retro charm, and oozing artisanal finesse, these are the enchanting creations of Trix Newham. Embracing the captivating visuals formed by glaze effects, Newham’s artistic designs combine inky, watercolour, crackled, and speckled looks with raw natural clay to produce dynamic, characterful works.

Originally reigniting her love for pottery in 2021, Newham started out making small square dishes decorated with geometric patterns which were sold at Margate’s Eclectic Gallery. In 2022 at Pie Factory, another gallery in Margate, Newham, along with artist Sian. C Morgan held an exhibition of their works titled Light & Life where Newham introduced a selection of unique ceramic lamps under Lux Pottery. The success of which encouraged Newham to continue creating.

These lamps, along with artworks and tiles are now the focus of Lux Pottery. Textured, multitonal, boldly geometric, and highly sensory, Newham’s exciting designs not only thrill with their beauty, but surprise with their function. Tiles that incorporate candle holders, soap dishes, wall hooks, and pockets/planters add fabulous dimension and wildly wonderful pieces of practical art whilst the Lux Pottery lamps, each entirely their own are made to stun and surprise.

A second Light & Life dual exhibition featuring work from both Trix Newham and Sian. C Morgan was held in 2023 and a third will be held at Pie Factory this year.
