Zaha Hadid’s Organic Oyster

One of the most iconic names in contemporary architecture, the late, great Zaha Hadid, selected deep crystallised stoneware colours for her final signature project: the Salerno ferry terminal.  Sitting like an oyster, between land and sea, it features a hard shell that comes to life in the sun rays due to its lustrous surface.  Here premier league modern architecture shows the limitless potential of ceramic tiles as a surface finish in the hands of talented designers.
