Elena Salmistraro’s distinctive style that marries illustration with visual art and design gives Chimera outstanding layers of personality. The Milan native has brought something entirely new to Florim‘s Cedit.
The collection is home to four themes – Empatia, Radici, Ritmo, and Colore – which offer a range of striking motifs on large format slabs. The decorative surfaces live amongst plain designs and natural stone looks, offering opportunity for both statements and calm.
A air of retro and Art Deco can be found amongst the patterns with plays on lines, curves, and angles as well as rich and powerful colour selections. Designed to merge “rigour with self-expression” and produce a “a graphic grammar laden with symbolic meaning” it is up to the individual what they find within the decors.
The Chimera collection is offered in three sizes (1,200 by 2,400mm, 1,200 by 1,200mm, and 600 by 1,200mm), one thickness (6mm), and either a matte or gloss finish. The range has 20 colour options in total allowing for a huge range of stylistic choices and combinations.
