Founded in 2012, The New Craftsmen has been sharing the work of artisans from the British Isles for the past 10 years. Unique glassworks, furniture pieces, textiles, and ceramics all feature, along with some fabulous pieces from ceramicist and illustrator Laura Carlin.

Carlin’s artistic, handpainted tiles are decorated with stylised animals, Roman bath scenes, playing cards, and various depictions of London life. The London life tiles are made in a traditional ‘Delft blue’ colourway on glazed cornish clay with images of railings, streetlamps, shops, buses, trees, animals, and crowds forming the mural.

More colour is found in the delightful Players Tile Set where a characterful interpretation of traditional playing cards is offered, each hand-drawn and digitally printed.

Cheetahs, gorillas, tigers, koalas, penguins, and more make up the 84 tiles in the Animal Tile Mural. They bring a lovely sense of cheer with their cartoonish, joyful appearance, perfect for adding a touch of uplifting art to the home.
