Joining the ranks of companies voting purple for 2022, Pantone‘s selection for Colour of the Year is Very Peri. Almost indistinguishable (but with a touch more red) from their 2008 colour Blue Iris we’re hoping this doesn’t follow Pantone’s habit of somewhat predicting world events and that we’ll steer clear from recession.
Despite this similarity, Pantone’s choice was selected to embody innovation by “creating a new colour for the first time in the history” with their Color of the Year educational colour program with the “red violet infused blue hue” highlighting “the expansive possibilities that lay before us”.
“Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.” says Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute.
In the tile world Very Peri and its ilk are a hot commodity and extremely hard to find, but we’ve done our best!
