Mysterious Metallics

Dedicated followers of Diary of a Tile Addict may recall a post back in June when I recounted coming across Made+39 for the first time at Coverings.  I was impressed – very impressed – by the certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ this Italian brand brings to the global tile market.   As well as on-trend tiles, Made +39 also produces marble resin products and wallpapers.  The company’s designs draw on the worlds of Italian fashion and  traditional hand-crafting.  The resulting portfolio delivers great material quality and true aesthetic impact.

While Faber – the range I have selected for this post – is not exactly new (it was also on display at Orlando) it is a range that I have been wanting to draw to the attention for my fellow tile addicts for some months now.  And, today, it seems is Faber’s lucky day.

In this design a rough metal surface is applied to a delicate 250 by 250mm format, delivering a contrast in keeping with contemporary style.  Faber reworks the metallic effect with strongly shaded colours, care-worn graphics, and a granular look that speaks of the passage of time.  It is a visually engaging range that plays on the two contrasting base colour shades.

Faber is available in two highly variegated colour options: Acciaio and Rame (steel and copper) which serve as the creative background for a ceramic material ideal for the modern environment.
