Incredible counterfeit ceramicist Diogo Machado – aka Add Fuel – continues to paint his mark on the world.
A uniquely wonderful private commission in his Portuguese homeland is certainly one way to tile a façade. In typical Add Fuel style, it appears the building’s exterior has been ripped away, revealing the intricate ’tiling’ beneath.

If only all buildings had such beauty! And there is no doubt that adding a touch of Fuel could create art of the most mundane designs. This particular mural was inspired by Art Nouveau, particularly the flora and other natural elements which work to harmonise the building into its surroundings.

Last year also saw multiple exhibitions showcasing his work including ‘XVII-XXI’ in Canada which explored old techniques of ceramic painting and elements of our modern world with its increasingly technological and mediacentric society, and the connections between them.

In Macau, China he featured at Alter Ego, an Annual Arts Exhibition. Consisting of public art and six exhibitions throughout the city, the work of 27 artists from Portuguese-speaking countries and China were showcased.

Add Fuel’s first solo show is coming soon to Paris – DEUXIÈME DÉSINTÉGRATION opens on April 12th (from 6pm to 10pm) to June 8th at Galerie Itinerrance.
