We’re back, we’re refreshed, and we’ve got a trio of trend content coming your way. First for your eyes to feast on we’re talking the patterns and decors set to star in 2024.

1) Checkerboard

A timeless classic with ties to numerous iconic aesthetics, checkerboard is never out but sometimes it’s even more in. With bold contrast, playful detail, unusual combinations, and patterns within patterns, checkerboard is set to have a great year.

2) Stripes

Another brilliantly broad category rich with design potential, stripes of all sorts are rumoured to be in in a big way. Working with traditional interiors, eclectic styles, maximalist wonder, and even Scandi chic, stripes fit every and anywhere, and in 2024 they’re going to do just that.

3) Flower Pop

Following on from the last few years’ obsession with all things 70s, punchy flower patterns are still going to be everywhere for the next 12 months. 2024 is also the 60th anniversary of Marimekko’s Unikko print designed by Maija Isola so there are sure to be plenty of floral celebrations to follow.

4) Geometrics

Angles, zig-zags, triangles, hexagons, kites, and trapeziums, as well as some shapes that haven’t been named yet, are all looking to enjoy 2024 in the wide and wonderful world of geometric design. People are getting brave with matching patterns and embracing intense motifs, and this year geometrics will be all the rage.
