Now all fellow Tile Addicts will know by now that I am particularly fond of a tile story with a culinary flavour. So today I am taking you across the pond to Naples, Florida, where Ocean Prime, a prestigious American chain of restaurants, has recently chosen tiles from Ceramiche Piemme for its latest branch.

These fine Italian tiles from Fiorano Modenese are just perfect for the restaurant’s seductive environment that works shades of tobacco and leather. These have been complemented by Piemme’s Wood Selection.

A impressive total of 4,600 sq. metres of parquet-effect tiles in a wenge tone were used by architect Mark Knauer of Knauer Incorporated.

“For Ceramiche Piemme the United States is one of our top markets, not just in terms of income but also with regard to the length of the relationships we have with our American partners,” explains Sales Director, Massimo Ganassi. “The partnership with the Mark Knauer Studio for the elegant restaurants of Ocean Prime has been particularly satisfying. Far from the mass market idea of restaurant chains, the concept devised by Cameron Mitchell is indeed closely connected with extremely high quality standards: for us itβs a real business card.“

The restaurant, in a privileged position on Fifth Avenue South, is located in the artistic heart of the city, among art galleries, boutiques and theatres.
