At silly o’clock tomorrow morning (Monday) it’s off to Valencia on Easyjet for Cevisama. From 5th to 9th February 2018 the Tile Addict team will be scouring the exhibition halls to discover the latest tile design trends and get hands on the hottest new collections.

As with any exhibition a bit of pre-planning can help save time and effort. So I have drawn up a short-list of stands that Hanna and I must visit. And near the top of that list – it’s not alphabetical – is Tonalite. I really admire this Italian brand. It produces products in a particularly wide range of colours, plus a versatile variety of shapes and special trims.

Clearly design-oriented, this is a company with a passion for preserving the value of craftsmanship and that has constantly evolved by keeping up with the latest advances in technology and design.

Tonalite’s portfolio spans some 30 ranges and 20 different formats. And, as Tonalite loves geometry, it also featused many different shapes. This makes it – of course – absolutely on-trend..

Offering 13 pastel colours (12 gloss, one matt), and offered in an exclusive size the Cerchio System is a truly modern architectural skin. Providing unusually sophisticated aesthetics and chromatic options, it is totally in line with current façade design trends.

With Cerchio, Tonalite challenges designers to think beyond interior applications of ceramic pieces. The Geometry collection, with the Cerchio (circle) element, can be used as a tool to achieve new forms of expression in architecture; externally and structurally as well as internally.

In the Cerchio system, (a product of the co-operation between Tonalite, ARX and Terramilano Engineering srl) circular tiles are combined with a highly engineered self-supporting galvanised steel sub-structure. It can be used to create spaces with strong formal coherence and 3D forms … in short, innovative architecture.

So, little wonder that I can’t wait to see what ceramic innovations lie in store for Tile Addict on Tonalite’s stand at Cevisama 2018.
