From dusty desert plains to rocky mountains, the varied and intriguing landscapes of the world form a fabulous fount of inspiration for the design world. And, as always, this trickles down into tiles, this time to give us these five collections
1) Desert Collection from Fireclay Tile
Inspired by the expansive deserts of the American West, Fireclay Tile’s Desert Collection shares a selection of eight shades (Red Rock, Mesa, Tumbleweed, Evening Glow, Painted Sky, Dawn, Dust Storm, and Adobe) that represent the endless sand, stone, and sky.

2) Geology by Sabine Hill
Utilising the random and wavy forms produced by hand poured cement, Sabine Hill’s Geology Collection translates nine landscapes (Canyon, Green Fluorite, Ice, Lapis, Rainbow Mountain, Sea Foam, Strata, Teal Agate, and Tundra) into colour.

3) Barene from Botteganove
Designed by Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto, Barene’s unusual textured surface is taken straight from the magical Venice lagoon. Four texture patterns in colours that emphasise the swirls and waves are created to be mixed and matched for unique and intriguing displays.

4) Agrarian from Fireclay Tile
Mirroring the crop circles created by centre-pivot irrigation, Fireclay Tile’s Agrarian collection makes decoration out of the unusual terrain that surrounds their factory. Eight patterns featuring a variety of farmland shapes make up the designs, forming an infinite number of layouts and colourways.

5) Excinere from Dzek Dzek Dzek x Formafantasma
Refreshing the idea of using volcanic rock as a building material, this rich tile collection offers up two sizes (198 by 48mm and 98 by 48mm) in two volcanic ash-glaze ranges (Terra and Verdigris) for a warm, varied, and highly textured finish, full of lava-like loveliness.
